At every GridMetro site, we deploy redundant edge routers from two different manufacturers. This approach eliminates the possibility of a manufacturer-specific vulnerability creating a single point of failure in our network.
By maintaining diverse hardware and software stacks at the edge, we ensure that security patches, firmware updates, or hardware-specific issues affecting one vendor's equipment never impact our ability to maintain service. If a critical vulnerability is discovered in one platform, traffic automatically fails over to the alternate vendor's infrastructure with zero service interruption.
